APPOINTMENTS TO THE TARRAANT APPRAISAL DISTRICT (TAD)

Terms of the twenty-nine members of the Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD)
Appraisal Review Board (ARB) will expire on December 31, 1992. At their
January 1993 meeting, the TAD Board of Directors will consider new
appointments for the January 1, 1993 through December 31, 1994 term.
Three of the current ARB members are ineligible for reappointment, as ARB
members are limited by law to three full or partial terms. The remaining
members will be considered for reappointment along with applicants whose
resumes are on file at TAD and others which may be recommended by the
taxing entities in Tarrant County. It is estimated there will be five openings
available.
Candidates must have resided in the District for at least two years. They may
not be a member of the TAD Board of Directors, an officer or employee of the
State Property Tax Board, TAD, or any taxing entity; however, former employees
or elected officials of the City are eligible. Candidates should have a good
knowledge of property values and the manner in which property should be
appraised in accordance with existing statutes. They should also be prepared to
serve a minimum of four days a week during the busy four month period
t ' (approximately July through October). During the remainder of the year, the
ARB normally meets once per month. ARB members receive a remuneration of
$200 for a fizll day's service and $100 for a partial day's service.
If the City Council should desire to make recommendations for appointment to
the ARB, the name of the candidate, together with a resume, address and
phone number must be submitted to TAD no later than January 10, 1993.
