RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Auiharize the trans�Fer af $505,782 from t�e Water and Sewer Fund to the Waier Capital Projeci
Fund in the amount of $389,486 and the Sewer Capital Praject Fund in the amount afi $116,296;
and
2. Adopt the attached appropriatian ardinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriation in the
Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $389,486 and the S�wer Capital Project Fund in the
amount af $116,296, from available funds; and
3. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Austin Bridge & Road, Inc. in the amount of

DISCUSSION:
In the FY2001-2002 Contract Major Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance
techniques are grouped into specific contract packages. HMAC SurFace O�erlay 2002-9 prouides for
surface and base rehabilita�ian, rep�acement af faiied c�rb and gutter, and dri�eway approaches fior
asphalt streets at variflus locafions.
The sireets ir�cluded in this cantract are planned far the replacement af water andlor sewer lines. The
Transporta�ion and Public Works Department has determined that curb ta curh restoration of the
pavement surFace is the best op#ion for th� repair of thes� streets.
Repair costs for these streets will be s�ared equalfy (50150) betweer� the Water Department and the
Transpartation and Public Works Department.
