Since then new development has caused new streets to be constructed. In addition some existing streets have been upgraded and would better serve as truck and commercial delivery routes than some of those existing streets that are currently on system. This proposed Ordinance deletes all the current routes from the City Code and either adds or reinstates routes that are appro- priate for today's roadway system. Where possible, these routes are provided on major highways and major city streets designed and constructed to best facilitate truck and commercial delivery vehicles. In addition, the designation and marking of such routes minimizes through truck traffic on residential streets and on other streets not designed to handle heavy repetitive loading. Highlights of the changes .recommended are: * Downgrade State Highway 199 between 28th Street and 1-30, Belknap from SH 199 to I-35W and Weatherford between SH 199 and I-35W from truck routes to commercial delivery routes to eliminate any inner-city through trucks from coming through downtown. Remove West Lancaster, -through the Cultural District, between University and Montgomery as a commercial delivery route. * Remove routes from existing streets that are in residential areas or that are not built to withstand heavy truck loads. A few such streets are: Oak Grove Road, Trinity Boulevard, Precinct Line Road, Randal Mill Road east of Loop 820, Cooks Lane, Meadowbrook Drive, Trail Lake Drive, East First Street, Galvez 'Avenue, Stalcup Road, Ramey Avenue, Village Creek Road and Martin Street. Other recommendations include adding routes on new thoroughfares completed or improved since 1980. A few of the more significant streets added are: Altamesa Boulevard, Bryant Irvin Road, White Settlement Road, Clifford Avenue, and Bridgewood Drive.
