Call to Order With a quorum of the board members present, President Flores called the meeting of the Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) Board of Directors to order at 4:05 p.m., on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the City Council Conference Room 2020, Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. II. Approval of Meeting Minutes — May 21, 2024 Regular Meeting Motion was made by Director Bivens and second by Vice President Nettles to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2024, Regular Meeting. Motion passed 6-0. Directors Crain, Hill, Beck, Blaylock and Martinez absent. III. Written Reports A. FY 2024 3rd Quarter Performance Report on Activities and Finances B. Partners with a Shared Mission Quarterly Activities Report The reports were for informational purposes. No action by the Board was required. IV. Discussion and Action Items A. Consideration of Community Based Program Funding Recommendations for FY 2024 Program Grants in the Amount of $1,192,500.00 Keith Morris, Police, provided a staff report. CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS AUGUST 20, 2024 Page 2 of 3 Motion was made by Vice President Nettles seconded by Director Bivens, to Approve Community Based Program Funding Recommendations for FY 2024 Program Grants in the Amount of $1,192,500.00. Motion passed 11-0. B. Consideration of the FY2025 Recommended CCPD Budget in the Amount of $135,086,723.00 (PUBLIC HEARING) 1. Staff Report: Chief Neil Noakes provided the staff report. 2. Public Comments: There were no public comments received. 3. Action Motion was made by Director Bivens seconded by Director Hill, that the Public Hearing be closed and Approve Community Based Program Funding Recommendations for FY 2024 Program Grants in the Amount of $1,192,500.00. Motion passed 11-0. V. Public Comment There were no registered speakers. VI. Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Director Bivens requested information on the duties and responsibilities of School Resource Officers. Director Bivens requested information on African American recruitment as it related to SWAT. President Flores requested information on Safe Night LLC and their efforts in the entertainment district. Director Williams inquired of the feasibility of conducting an internal study or strategic plan, similar to the City of Arlington's Tomorrow Foundation initiative, to understand the return on investment. Keith Morris advised that CCPD is planning an internal initiative pertaining to this matter. VII. Adjourn With no further presentations or discussions, President Flores adjourned the meeting of the Fort Worth Crime Control and Prevention Board of Directors at 4:59 p.m., on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
