HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 18707-07-2009Ordinance No. 18747-d7-2049 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRiATlONS IN THE RED LIGHT ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM FUND iN THE AMOUNT OF 8221,234.27, FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING TRAFFIC SAFETY FUND PROJECTS; PROVIDING FORA SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE iT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments far Fiscal Year 2008-2009, there shall also be increased appropriations in the Red Light Enforcement Program fund in the amount of 8221,134.27, from available funds, for the purpose of funding traffic safety fund projects. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section ar part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance Na. 18283 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. No. 9~?47-U7-2089 DATE: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 LOG NAME: 20REVFUNDS REFERENCE NO.: G-16627 SUBJECT: Adopt a Supplemental Appropriation Ordinance Increasing Estimated Receipts and Appropriations in the Automated Red Light Enforcement Program Fund in the Amount of $221,134.27 far Traffic Safety Fund Projects RECOMMENDATION: _ ______ It is recommended that the City Councii adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Automated Red Light Enforcement Program Fund by the amount of $221,134.27 from available funds to pay for the traffic safety fund projects. DISCUSSION: As of September 30, 2408, the Automated Red Light Camera Enforcement Program accepted $1,207,710.33 in violation revenue. After subtracting expenses, half of the remaining revenue, X221,134.27, was sent to the State of Texas. Per Ordinance 17677-07-20Q7, Section 12-11 A 2, the remaining half of the revenue, $221,134.27, is dedicated to a traffic safety fund program to increase pedestrian and traffic safety in the City of Fort Worth. Traffio safety fund program projects to be undertaken include installation of loop detectors, repairing traffic signal poles and installation of temporary sidewalks as part of Safe Pathways Program to schools. A list of potential projects is attached. FISCAL INFORMATION t CERTIFICATION: The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the Automated Red Light Enforcement Program Fund.
