AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING 60-FOOT WIDE BY
506.21-FOOT LONG PORTION OF COUNTY ROAD 1081, GARDEN
ARBORS ESTATES, LOCATED IN THE J. KORTICKY SURVEY,
ABSTRACT NO. 914, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT a 60-foot wide by 506.21-foot long portion of County Road 1081, Garden
Arbors Estates, located in the J. Korticky Survey, Abstract No. 914, Tarrant County,
Texas, and containing 0.70 acres, and as recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 6031 of the Plat
Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A,
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street right-of-way is
hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

METES AMID BOUNpS DESCRIPTION
Being all that certain lot, tract or parcel of land situated in the J. KORTICKY
SURVEY, Abstract No. 914, .Tarrant County, Texas and being a portion of dedicated
right-of-way given to Tarrant County, ~fexas according to the plat of GARDEN
ARBORS ESTATES, recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 6031 of the Plat Records of Tarrant
County, Texas and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at a 1 /2 inch iron rod found being the southwest corner of said
Garden Arbors Estates and said 1 /2 inch iron rod found also being the southeast
corner of Lot 17, Black A of Country Corner Estates, an addition to Tarrant
County, Texas according to the plat recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 3991 of the Plat
Records of Tarrant County, Texas and said 1 /2 inch iron rod found being on the
north line of that certain 16.227 acre tract of land conveyed to Charles E, Sewell
by deed recorded in Volume 7233, Page 1220 of the peed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas;
THENCE North 00 degrees 46 minutes 08 seconds West, along the east line of
said Lot 17 and the west line of said Garden Arbors Estates, a distance of 60.00
feet to a capped 1 /2 inch iron rod found being the southwest corner of Lot 3 of
said Garden Arbor Estates and the northwest corner of said right-of-vUay
dedication;
THENGE North 89 degrees 41 minutes 14 seconds East along the north line of
said right-of-way dedication at a distance of 50.00 feet passing a dapped 1 /2
inch Iran rod .found being the southeast corner of said Lct 3 and alsd being the
southwest corner of said Lot 2 of said Garden Arbors Estates, continuing along
the south line of said Lot 2 at a distance of 284.39 feet passing a capped 1 /2
inch iron rod found being the southeast corner of said Lof 2 and also being the
southwest corner of Lot 1 of said Garden Arbors Estates and rantinuirlg in all
along the south line of said Lot 1, a distance of 506.80 feet to a capped 1 /2
inch iron rod found being the southeast corner of said Lot 1;
THENCE .South 00 degrees 12 minutes 33 seconds East a distance of 60.00 feet
to a capped 1 /2 inch iron rod .set on the north line of the aforem entioned
16.227 acre tract and the south line of said Garden Arbors Estates and the south
line of said right-of-way dedicaation far the southeast corner of th e herein
described tract of land;
THENCE South 89 degrees 41 minutes 14 seconds West along the south line of
said Garden Arbors Estates and the north line of said 16.227 ~ acre tract, d
distance of 506.21 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 0.~0 acres of
land more or less.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 60-foot wide by
..506.21 foot long portion of County Road 1081., Garden Arbors Estates, situated in the J. Korticky
Survey, Abstract No. 914, Tarrant County, according to the plat recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 6031, Plat
Records of Tarrant County, Texas, containing 0.70 acres of land.
DISCUSSION:.
:Bill and Stephanie Corrigan, Jim and Jacqueline Garwood, and William Umbreil, owners of the above-
described properties, have requested vacation of the referenced road to replat with adjoining properties.
There are no known utilities in the said right-of-way.
The City Plan Commission recommended approval at its public hearing on June 26, 2002.
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division; states that a fee of $1.00 will satisfy the
public interest. Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to
this request. An acceptable.replat has been provided (FS-02-184).
These properties are located in Fort Worth's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
