As stated in the May 16, 1995 Informal Report number 7916, the purpose of this proposed ordinance was not to create additional bureaucracy for the business and private communities of Fort Worth but to create a more "user friendly" document within the City Code. As designed, the Environmental Protection and Compliance Ordinance assembled all the environmentally related sections within the current City Code and placed them into one chapter. Since submitting this document for public review, the Departments of Environmental Management and Law have conducted orientation sessions for several groups including the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Environmental Subcommittee; the Fort Worth Environmental Symposium; the North Texas Power Washers Association and the Fort Worth Environmental Advisory Group. Similarly, access to this document has been made available to the general public via hard copy and computer disk. Hard copies of the document have, been placed in each of the City's branch libraries for public access. Notices of availability ran in the Fort Worth City Page in late May and early June 1995. ror The public comment period is scheduled to close on August 5, 1995. A public hearing is scheduled for August 7, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial Complex, Amon Carter Center, South Texas Room. Following the receipt of public input, proposed changes will be reviewed and incorporated into a final code as soon as possible. This final version of the Comprehensive Environmental Protection and Compliance Ordinance will then be forwarded to Council for review and adoption. For further information concerning the Environmental Protection and Compliance Ordinance, please contact Kathryn Hansen, Assistant City Attorney (871-7616) or Brian K. Boerner, CHMM (871-6107).
