SUBJECT: Continuation of Portions of M&C L-13602
Purpose
The purpose of this informal report is to provide information regarding M&C L-13602, authorizing the
sale of surplus tax foreclosed property, with the exception of properties located at 3225 E. Lancaster and
2726 Chesser Boyer, which were to be continued for two weeks. Councilmember Haskin had concerns
regarding the zoning for these properties.
Current Zoning Issues
Councilmember Haskin was concerned about the sale of alcohol permitted under the "E" zoning for 3225
E. Lancaster. Staff has determined that this property is zoned "E-R," Neighborhood Commercial
Restricted, not "E" as previously stated. "E-R" does not allow the sale of alcohol.
2726 Chesser Boyer is zoned "K," Medium Industrial. This property is located within the Meacham
Industrial Growth Center, for which "K" zoning is appropriate.
Staff has conveyed this information to Councilmember Haskin, and she has subsequently informed staff
that she is comfortable with the zoning for both of these parcels. If the apparent successful bidder for
3225 E. Lancaster is interested in pursuing purchase with the "E-R" zoning, staff will submit an M&C on
August 12, 2003 seeking Council approval for the conveyance of these two properties. If the apparent
successful bidder for the Lancaster property does not wish to pursue purchase, staff will recommend that
the bids be rejected and e property included for advertisement in the next surplus sale.
