Re: Northside I II — Phase 11154 inch Water Transmission Main
City of Fort Worth CPN#104940-3
Dear Jesica McEachern:
It is Atmos Energy Corporation's (Atmos Energy) understanding that the City of Fort Worth
Water Department is proposing to install a water line crossing for the purpose of transmission
use per plans provided by Kimley Horn for the City of Fort Worth. The project's utility crossing
will cross Atmos Energy's 10" steel Transmission gas line and existing easement as shown in
the attached drawings and included exhibits.
Atmos Energy has determined that the construction of the 54" water main line in 78" steel casing
will not present a significant conflict given a minimum clearance of 9.8' is achieved based on the
given design criteria/information. Atmos Energy will not object to the construction of the proposed
utility crossing project, provided that the following additional criteria are followed:
Please contact Texas 811 for line locates 72 hours prior to excavation. A representative
with the Atmos Energy Damage Prevention team will then contact you to schedule an
onsite meeting in advance of excavation activities within the vicinity of Atmos Energy
facilities.
Atmos Energy's facilities have been determined to currently be approximately 5' (feet)
deep with respect to existing grade for the 10" steel gas Transmission line and 2' (feet)
deep with respect to existing grade for the 18" steel gas Transmission line at the
proposed water line crossing with a vertical clearance of at least 9.8' according to plans
provided. No additional cover will be allowed to be removed. The minimum clearance of
9.8' will be maintained during the utility crossing of the gas line during construction. If
sinking of construction equipment begins due to wet weather or compaction, then all
work over the pipeline location will cease until it can be worked without sinkage to avoid
damage to the pipelines and maintain depths of cover stated above. During
construction and final finished depths of cover will not be less than 5' of soil over the
pipeline. An Atmos Energy Representative must be on site during any excavation over
the pipeline.
• Once Atmos' pipe is visually identified through the potholing referenced above,
mechanized excavation may be utilized up to 3 feet of any direction of the circumference
of the pipe.
• Within 3 feet of any direction of the circumference of the pipe, any excavation must be
done by vacuum excavation or hand digging.

• At no time may cover be removed from the easement or right-of-way or over the
pipeline other than what has already been approved without the prior written approval
of Atmos Energy.
• Atmos Energy's line will be protected from washing and erosion during construction
and/or repairs.
• Equipment, materials, or excess dirt will not be stored on top of the pipeline during
construction without the prior written approval of Atmos Energy.
• Notification to Atmos must be made prior to crossing our pipelines with construction
equipment to allow time for load calculations to be performed. The curb weight and
type of equipment will be required to perform calculations. Load isolation structures
may be required at the requestor's expense.
• Atmos Energy will not be responsible for damage to any allowed encroachments.
• Atmos Energy reserves the right for future uses of this easement (if an easement
exists), including but not limited to, ingress and egress, reconstructing, removing,
relocating, maintaining, operating, etc., of any of its facilities.
• Impact/conflict analysis was based on and is limited to any drawings and documents
submitted to Atmos Energy, as referenced above AND changes in scope of work
contained in these drawings must be resubmitted for re -review and approval.
• If construction equipment is to cross any Atmos Energy pipeline, the City of Fort Worth,
or contractor equivalent, shall submit a list of equipment (with weights) to Atmos
Energy personnel for weight distribution loading review prior to construction.
