HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 8279 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No.. 8279 TBp To the Mayor and Members of the City Council October 10,2000 rv , Subject: BRIDGE PAINTING The Contract Major Maintenance Program includes funding for improvements to various types of facilities including streets and bridges. Staff has programmed four bridges within the City for minor repair and painting of the bridge railing and street light standards this year. Park Hill at the Fort Worth Zoo North Main over the West Fork of the Trinity River East 4`h Street over the West Fork of the Trinity River Riverside Drive northbound over the West Fork of the Trinity River The Linkages plan adopted recently by the City Council reserved three paint colors for three designated areas of the City: dark green for the Cultural District, brick red for the Stock-yards area, and brown for the Cl3D. Other areas are traditionally painted an aluminum color, although dark brown has been extensively used in the Park Glen and Alliance areas. In accordance with the Linkages plan, the North Main Street bridge will be painted brick red to 1. match the approved Stockyards color scheme. The Park Hill bridge, however, is planned to be repainted light gay to match the existing, paint of this historically important structure. The East Fourth Street and Riverside bridges, which are outside the linkage areas established by the Council,would normally be painted aluminum. The Riverside Alliance Neighborhood Association members, however, have requested that these bridges be painted dark green, the color designated for the Cultural District.
