HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 8532 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 8532 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council Date: 0913012003 w� Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: MEDSTAR SUBSIDY The FY2003-04 adopted budget, approved at the City Council Meeting September 9, 2003, continues payment to the Metropolitan Ambulance Authority (MedStar) at the same amount as included in FY2002-03 of $1,311,021. This amount for FY2003-04 represents a $2.27 per capita subsidy payment for the residents of Fort Worth based on a population of 577,500. This now raises the current transport fee approximately $167 from $568 to $735. Although the transport fee will increase, Fort Worth residents continue to have the option of entering into a membership with MedStar for $55 per year. The membership covers the entire household, provides for unlimited emergency transports at no costs and alternative transportation services at a 20 percent discount.
