HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 8575 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No- .575 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council February 24, 2004 SUBJECT: TRANSPORTATION GAP ANALYSIS STUDY At the January 27, 2004 Council meeting, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc. for a Transportation Gap Analysis Study in the amount of $96,000 and authorized the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA)for the joint funding ($20,000) of this study. The FWTA Executive Board authorized staff to enter into the I nterlocal Agreement with the City of Fort Worth on February 5. Status of Transportation Gap Analysis On February 3, 2004, Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc. was issued a notice to proceed with the Transportation Gap Analysis Study. The study kickoff meeting was held February 9, 2004. Task 1, Documentation of Existing and Future Conditions, is currently underway. The completion date for Task 1 is February 23, 2004. The remaining study tasks include: • Identification of Travel Demand and Transportation Needs • Documentation of Study Findings • Presentation of Study Findings The scheduled completion date for the Transportation Gap Analysis Study is April 2004. Status of Mobility and Air Quality Plan Staff continues to develop the process, scope, and schedule for Phase 11 (Alternative Analysis) and Phase III (Implementation Strategies) of the MAO Plan.
