According to the Fart Worth Public Art Master Plan (adopted by City Council on September 30, 2003), the purpose of this plan is to "identify CIP projects with an arts component that will be undertaken over the duration of the bond program" and to "establish general parameters for the public art projects to be undertaken". The Public Art Director has worked closely with City Department heads and their designees to identify projects that will allow for the greatest public visibility and geographic distribution throughout Fort Worth. The Fort Worth Art Commission (FWAC) welcomes input from the Mayor and City Council on this draft plan. The Fort Worth Art Commission will be seeking public input this summer with the goal of recommending the final Long Range Plan for City Council approval in September 2004. The adopted Long Range Plan will guide the Public Art Program's annual work plans and may be amended as needed. In the meantime, Fort Worth Art Commission will be forwarding to City Council their recommendations on individual CIP projects listed in the draft Long Range Plan that the City is initiating now so that opportunities for artist involvement in those projects will not be lost.
