HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 63613CSC No. 63613 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Between The City of Fort Worth on behalf of the Fort Worth Police Department and One Safe Place This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a collaborative agreement between the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) and One Safe Place (OSP) to participate in and support the work of the Hope & Safety Task Force, with a shared commitment to improving outcomes for children exposed to domestic violence in the City of Fort Worth. if Scope of Agreement. 1. Task Force Participation FWPD agrees to participate in the Hope & Safety Task Force, a multidisciplinary body focused on enhancing system responses to children exposed to domestic violence. 2. Task Force Purpose The purpose of the Task Force is to regularly review police responses to incidents of domestic violence in which children are identified as having been exposed to domestic violence, with the aim of ensuring full implementation of FWPD General Order 341.05, Handle With Care, particularly the provisions addressing protocols for responding to children exposed to violence. The Task Force will work to ensure such children are identified, appropriately engaged on -scene, and connected to services and supports. 3. Primary Goals The primary goals of the Task Force are to facilitate effective law enforcement engagement and effective and timely referrals to appropriate services for children identified as having been exposed to domestic violence in Fort Worth police responses to incidents of domestic violence, consistent with the established protocol. 4. Coordination OSP's Community Response Coordinator for Youth Exposed to Domestic Violence will serve as the primary coordinator for Task Force meetings, including scheduling, facilitation, and documentation of outcomes and action steps. OFFICIAL RECORD CITY SECRETARY FT. WORTH, TX 5. Information Sharing The parties agree to share relevant information as necessary to effectuate the goals of the Task Force. All information sharing will comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding victim confidentiality and privilege. In addition, all police documents pertaining to an investigation will be confidential and are only provided for this limited purpose and may not be released to other individuals or entities without permission of FWPD. 6. Meeting Frequency and Staffing The parties will collaborate to establish regular meetings of the Task Force. Both FWPD and OSP agree to designate appropriate personnel to participate in and staff the meetings as needed to advance the objectives of the Task Force. lif, Tyr.+. ar,,,l TrrrS^ir—f-ife—n This MOU will remain in effect for a period of three (3) years from the effective date and may be renewed or amended upon mutual agreement of both parties. Either party may terminate this MOU upon thirty (30) days written notice to the other party. IV. Effective Date This MOU shall be effective from the date of signing by both parties. V.
