HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013/11/12-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION NOVEMBER 12, 2013 After proper notice given pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act, Mayor Price adjourned the Council meeting of the Fort Worth City Council at 4:03 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, to convene into the Special City Council Meeting for the closed Executive Session in the Pre- Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building. Present: Mayor Betsy Price Mayor Pro tem W.B. "Zim" Zimmerman, District 3 Council Member Salvador Espino, District 2 Council Member Daniel Scarth, District 4 Council Member Jungus Jordan, District 6 Council Member Dennis Shingleton, District 7 Council Member Kelly Allen Gray, District 8 Council Member Joel Bums, District 9 Absent: Council Member Gyna Bivens, District 5 Staff Present: Tom Higgins, City Manager Sarah Fullenwider, City Attorney Mary J. Kayser, City Secretary Fernando Costa, Assistant City Manager Susan Alanis, Assistant City Manager Gerald Pruitt, Deputy City Attorney Peter Vaky, Deputy City Attorney Laetitia Brown, Sr. Assistant City Attorney Chris Troutt, Sr. Assistant City Attorney Police Chief Jeff Halstead Monica Wood, Assistant City Attorney Patrice Randle, City Auditor Lowell Hyatt, Consultant With a quorum of the City Council Members present, the Fort Worth City Council convened into closed Executive Session at 4:08 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in the Pre-Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building to discuss matters pertaining to the following: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code: a. Michael L. Malone v. City of'Fort Worth, et al, Cause No. 4:09-CV-634-Y, U. S. Deliberate the purchase, muic, lease orvalue of real property in accordance with 8ocdoo 551.872 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have o detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3.
