HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3274 (2)ORDINANCE NO. _5c�? / AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CER- TAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PRO- VIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIB- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in the present City of Fort with city limit line, said point being at a corner in the south line of the J. Howard Survey and the north line of the T. & P. Railroad Company's Survey; Thence west along the south line of the J. Howard Survey, the Geo. Shield Survey, and across a part of the J. F. Heath Survey to a point in the east line of the J. Watson Survey, said point being at a corner of the Benbrook city limit line; Thence in a northerly and westerly direction along the Ben - brook city limit line to a point where said line intersects the City of Fort Worth city limit line in the Old Stove Foundry Road where the Texas and Pacific spur track turns north to Carswell Air Force Base; Thence in an easterly and southerly direction along the present City of Fort Worth city limit line to the place of beginning, and containing approximately seven square miles of land. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Star -Telegram, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in ac- cordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
