HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 15729r Ordinance No. ~ ' AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTCMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE COMMERCIAL PAPER-WATER FUND 1N THE AMOUNT OF $1,765,861.44 AND IN THE COMMERCIAL PAPER-SEWER FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,356,321.44 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH OSCAR RENDA CONTRACTING, INC. FOR WATER MAIN AND SANITARY SEWER MAIN RELOCATIONS ON ROSEDALE STREET {9TH AVENUNE TO ALSTON AVENUE}, CONTRACT 2, UNIT 11; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2043- 2404 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shad also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Commercial Paper-Water Fund in the amount of $1,765,861.00 and in the Commercial Paper-Sewer Fund in the amount of $1,356,321.44 from available funds for the purpose of funding a contract with Oscar Renda Contracting, Inc. for water main and sanitary sewer main relocations on Rosedale Street {9th Avenue to Alston Avenue}, Contract 2, Unit II. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shah be cumulative of Ordinance No. 15636 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Oscar Renda Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $2,837,682.00 for water main and sanitary sewer main relocations on Rosedale Street {9th Avenue to Alston Avenue}, Contract 2, Unit I!. alscussloN; On March 23, 1999 {M&C C-17334), the City Council authorized the City Manger to execute an engineering agreement with Garcia & Associates Engineering, Inc. to prepare plans and specifications for water and sanitary sewer relocations on Rosedale Street from US-287 to Forest Park Boulevard. The relocation of the water main and sanitary sewer main is necessary in order to facilitate the proposed paving improvements on Rosedale S±r~,et by ~"e Texas Departmen+ of Transpar`-tion. Contract 2, Unit 1 was advertised for bid on August 14 and 21, 2003. Oscar Renda Contracting, Inc. is in compliance with the City's MiWBE Ordinance by committing to 30°l0 MlWBE participation. The Gity's goal on this project is 16°l0. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9, Mapsco 76L and M.
