Home My WebLink AboutContract 40243-A1 AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES RENOVATE and EXPAND the GENERAL TERMINAL BUILDING at MEACHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT STATE OF TEXAS § § CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. ka4,3 —A COUNTY OF TARRANT § WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford (Architect) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 40243 (The Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-24215, the 11 th day of May, 2010; and WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary for additional design services to increase the scope of work for the topographic survey; and NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article 1.1, SECTION I —SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a paragraph is added to read as follows: "Provide additional design services for increasing the Civil Engineering Consultant's proposed scope of work due to the expansion of the topographic survey limits. The cost of this additional service is $3,350.00. The scope of services is described more fully in the Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford's letter dated July 6, 2010 subject: Meacham Airport Terminal Building Renovation — Phase 1 including attachments noted as Exhibits "A", "B" and "C" and with the attached email dated July 6, 2010, subject: Meacham Airport Terminal Building Renovation — Phase 1, which is attached hereto and as Attachment"A"and made a part of this Agreement." 2. Paragraph 1 of SECTION V-COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows: "The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by Architect as described in CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of $238,025.00 plus up to$13,200.00 in reimbursable expenses." 3. As you may remember during the proposal phase the limits of our site work were undetermined. The Master Plan for Meacham Airport was not yet to the final selection phase and there were multiple planning options for the Terminal Building site.We proposed the landscape and Civil work on an assumed project site boundary of approximately 6.6 acres (see attachment "C") during the contract phase.The current boundary as determined in our meeting with the Master Plan team on June 17,2010,is 9,5 acres, (see attachment"B"). As per the attached Exhibit ALT. 1-A (350'x820'), the original area that was anticipated is approximately 6.6-acres. After meeting with URS and airport representatives it was learned that actually more area would need to be surveyed which results in area of approximately 9.5-acres(see attached). The current contract fee for the topographic survey is $7,650 for the 6.6-acres; with the increased area to 9.5- acres the proposed fee will be $11,000. If this meets with the owner's approval, please sign below as an authorization to increase the scope of the surveying per the attached exhibit. Also, it should be noted that it was communicated i. the beginning of this project that URS would be performing a S.U.E. for locating on-site underground utilities. In discussion with their surveyor it has been learned that URS is only providing information for utilities that is based on plan documents. That information is scheduled to be available by September. If the owner wants more detailed utility information, it will require a higher level of S.U.E. than is currently being provided.
