Home My WebLink AboutContract 40243-A3 AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO AGREEMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES RENOVATE and EXPAND the GENERAL TERMINAL BUILDING at MEACHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT STATE OF TEXAS § § CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 440a43—A3 COUNTY OF TARRANT § WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford (Architect) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 40243 (The Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-24215, the 11th day of May, 2010; and WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary for additional design services to increase the scope of work for the additional cost estimating; and NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article 1.1, SECTION I —SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a paragraph is added to read as follows: "Provide additional design services for additional cost estimates for the various schematic design options. The cost of this additional service is $1,500.00. The scope of services is described more fully in the Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford's letter dated January 13, 2011 subject: Revised Proposal for Cost Estimating Work, City of Fort Worth, Texas, Meacham Airport Terminal Building Renovation — Phase 1 including attachments noted as "Exhibit A - Creative Cost Solutions Proposal" and "Exhibit B - Creative Cost Solutions Invoice"' and the attached email dated January 14, 2011, subject: Renovate General Terminal building, Meacham International Airport, which are attached hereto and made a part of this Agreement." 2. Paragraph 1 of SECTION V-COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows: "The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by Architect as described in CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of $246,025.00 plus up to $13,200.00 in reimbursable expenses." 3. As you may remember during the proposal phase the cost estimating portion of the fee was reduced from $13,200.00 to $9,650.00. The discussion was we would only need the Schematic Design estimate for Option 1 and the addition of 2 floors for Option 2. The total from the proposal was $9,650.00. During our final review meetings in Phase 1, an option for a "cold dark shell' for the top floor was proposed, and additional hours were spent to revise the current estimate.A second VE item was the removal of the basement level terracing in stages,the front first, and then the side second. This also required additional estimating. And a third VE proposal was the removal of the Atrium. This also required a revised estimate. There were some other VE items (curtainwall changes, granite reduction, and screenwall deductions) but these did not require significant changes to the working estimate, or incur additional fees. In the original proposal our cost estimator identified a cost of$500.00 for each VE item addressed by additional estimating. Our proposal for additional services includes 3 VE estimates for a total of $1500.00. This will bring the total for the cost estimating to a total of$11,150.00,which is$2,050.00 under the original estimate of$13,200.00 The original proposal from Creative Cost Solutions is attached as Exhibit °A".
