HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6350 e") ORDINANCE NO� . - AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT GUENTHER STREET FROM 300 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF GLENDALE STREET A DISTANCE OF 400 FEET TO A POINT 700 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF GLENDALE STREET BE VACATED AND CLOSED; PRO- VIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEAL- ING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Guenther Street from 300 feet north of the north line of Glendale Street a distance of 400 feet to a point 700 feet north of the north line of Glendale Street be and the same is hereby closed. and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatsoever. SECTION 2, That the highway easement of the public in said land is hereby released. and. shall revert to the City of Fort Worth the adjacent owner of the fee therein. SECTION 3, That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. If this request is granted, the Park and Recreation Department will utilize subject right-of-way for expansion of an existing lighted softball field in Trail Drivers Park. This is the only lighted softball field in the Central North Side area and is in constant use. Traffic turn-arounds are proposed within two parking lots which are to be located at the north and south ends of the closed right-of-way. City, departments and private utility compandes have reviewed this request and have no objections . The City Plan' Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance closing the public right-of-way as requested subject to the retention of the right-of-way as an easement for an existing sanitary sewer. Recommendation It is recommended that aa ordinance be adopted closing subject right-of-way as recommended by the City Plaa Commission.
