Goodall, City Secretaiy CALL TO ORDER With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City Council Regular Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail, Fort Worth, Texas. The invocation was provided by Mayor Pro tem Flores. The Pledges of Allegiance to the United States of America and the State of Texas were recited, led by Cub Scouts Pack 205. Assistant City Manager Burgdoff provided an update on the Small Business Development Program and the recommendations by staff on the suspension of certain ordinances and resolutions to ensure the continued receipt of federal funding. Motion passed 8-3, Council Members Lauersdorf, Peoples, and Hill casting the dissenting votes. Council Member Lauersdorf made a motion, seconded by Council Member Hill, that Resolution No. 6126-08-2025 be adopted. Council Member Nettles made a substitute motion, seconded by Council Member Dr. Hail, that Resolution No. 6126-08-2025 be approved with the addition of a requirement that the suspensions shall remain in effect so long as court precedent or gt•ant assertions requit•e it to be in effect or until such time as the suspended programs are terminated oi� replaced by City Council, provided that any repeai of the suspension will be by formal action of the city Council, and provided the City Council shall be aslced to consider such repeal by formal action within 90 days following a change to the required grant assei•tions or court precedent that clearly establishes the legality of the programs. Council Member Lauersdorf made a motion, seconded by Council Member Hill, that Resolution No. 6126-08-2025 be adopted. Motion passed 7-4, Council Members Peoples, Dr. Hall, Nettles, and Becl< casting the dissenting votes. Council Member Crain made a motion, seconded by Council Member Hill, that Ordinance No. 27832-08-2025 be adopted. Motion passed 10-1, Council Meinber Peoples casting the dissenting.
