CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF RAYMOND HILL
AS THE FORT WORTH FIRE CHIEF ON AN INTERIM BASIS
WHEREAS, Fire Chief James E. Davis has resigned from his employment with the City, effective
on October 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Section 143.013(a) of Chapter 143, Public Officers and Employees, of the Texas
Local Government Code requires the department head of the Fire Department to be appointed by the
municipality's chief executive and confirmed by the municipality's governing body; and
WHEREAS, City Manager Jay Chapa appointed Assistant Chief Raymond Hill to serve as
department head of the Fire Department and Fire Chief, on an interim basis, effective at Noon on October
31, 2025, and to fulfill these duties until the City completes the selection process for a new Fire Chief and
names a successor Fire Chief;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council confirms the City Manager's appointment of Assistant Chief Raymond Hill as
department head of the Fire Department, and Fire Chief for the City of Fort Worth on an interim basis,
effective at Noon on October 31, 2025, and Assistant Chief Raymond Hill taking the appropriate Oath as
Fire Chief, on an interim basis.
