NOMINATING CANDIDATE TO FILL VACANCY ON TARRANT APPRAISAL
DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Texas Property Tax Code requires the creation of an appraisal
district in each county in the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Tarrant Appraisal District is governed by a board of directors
that includes members appointed by participating taxing units; and
WHEREAS, when a vacancy occurs in such membership, each taxing unit that is
entitled to vote may, within 45 days of receipt of notice of a vacancy, nominate by
resolution a candidate; and
WHEREAS, on November 10, the Tarrant Appraisal District provided notice of a
vacancy for a position with a term that expires on December 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, in order to serve on the Board, an individual must be a resident of
the district and must have resided in the district for at least two years immediately prior
to taking office; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is entitled to vote for members of the Board
of Directors and wishes to nominate a qualified candidate to fill the vacancy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City Council of the City of Fort Worth officially nominates Becky Renfro
Borbolla as a candidate to fill a position on the Board of Directors of the
Tarrant Appraisal District; and
2. The City Secretary's Office is hereby directed, on behalf of the Mayor as
presiding officer, to forward this resolution to the Chief Appraiser, Tarrant
Appraisal District, Fort Worth, Texas on or before December 26, 2025.
