HomeMy WebLinkAbout26-0005 - 2026-01-06 - Informal ReportINFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 26-0005 pAT&A4 4 i { a i7 Y w rFrn 1075 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council January 6, 2026 Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF SUBSTITUTE HEARING OFFICER The purpose of this Informal Report is to share with the Mayor and Council the recommendation for the appointment of Keenan Golden to the vacant position of Part-time Hearing Officer at the January 13, 2026, City Council Meeting. Fort Worth Municipal Court Substitute Hearing Officers are appointed to two-year terms with the current terms expiring on January 12, 2028. A Substitute Hearing Officer, vested with the same authority as the full-time hearing officer, is authorized to conduct hearings under Chapters 7, 10, 12.5, and 22 of the City Code, including the following: 1. Appeals from the decisions of the Director of Code Compliance regarding the probationary status, suspension or revocation of the registration of multi -family complexes as provided in Chapter 7 of the City Code; 2. Cases involving parking, stopping, or standing of vehicles and boot hearings under Chapter 10 of the City Code; 3. Formal appeal hearings regarding solid waste and recycling decisions for the Director of Code Compliance or his designee under Chapter 12.5 of the City Code; and 4. Hearings involving violations of City ordinances governing vehicles as set out in Chapter 22 of the City Code. If approved this would be the first term for Keenan Golden to serve as a Substitute Hearing Officer for the Fort Worth Parking Violations Bureau for a two-year term, effective January 13, 2026, and expiring January 12, 2028.
