APPOINTING DR. COREY MAYFIELD TO SERVE ON THE
MEDICAL CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 6036-12-2024 (the `Resolution"), the City of
Fort Worth (the "City") created the Medical Control Advisory Board (the "MCAB");
WHERAS, the MCAB was created to serve as an advisory body to the City and for
the purposes of advising the City about the clinical performance of the City's Emergency
Medical Services System ("EMS System"); and
WHEREAS, the MCAB's voting membership includes the City's Medical Director,
who serves as the board chair, the emergency department physician medical director, or
designee, from each full -service emergency department located within the EMS System
Service Area, and at least four physician members representing relevant specialties or sub-
specialties of benefit in developing standards for emergency out -of -hospital care, with such
members to be recommended by a majority of the then -existing members of MCAB and to be
appointed by the City;
WHEREAS, upon its appointment, and pursuant to the Resolution, the MCAB
included ten voting members which include the City's Medical Director and the emergency
department physician medical directors, or designee, from each full -service emergency
department within the EMS System Service Area;
WHEREAS, Dr. Michelle Beeson served as the representative for Texas Health
Resources Southwest but recently has elected to end her tenure and step down from the
position with MCAB;
WHEREAS, on December 4, 2025, the MCAB conducted a regularly scheduled
meeting and considered the recommendation of approving Dr. Corey Mayfield as Dr. Beeson's
replacement, and to be appointed by the City;
WHEREAS, a majority of the then -existing MCAB members unanimously approved
the motion to recommend the appointment of Dr. Mayfield; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City Council officially appoint the individual
listed below to serve as a voting member of the MCAB.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council hereby appoints the following individual, who is qualified, to
serve as a voting member of the Medical Control Advisory Board:
