It is proposed that the City Council retroactively approve the waiver of parlc reservation rental fees
for Lake Comofest, held on July 3, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
The Parlc & Recreation Department (PARD) Park Reservation and Festival Equipment Rental
Policies establish procedures for reserving parlcs and rental of various pieces of festival equipment.
As part of the annual budget process, the City Council adopts all City fees including park
reservations and festival equipment rental fees.
On June 25, 2024 Councilmember Williams Office requested the waiver of site reservation rental
fees related to the 2024 Lake Comofest event. The Lake Comofest is an event with the goal of
connecting the community and bridging the generational gap in the Como neighborhood. The Lake
Comofest in 2024 had significant City of Fort Worth involvement through the partnership of the Fort
Worth Police Department to ensure the safety of event attendees. Waiver of the site reservation
rental fee will help achieve the public purpose of supporting safe neighborhoods. Total waiver of
site reservation rental fees includes $580.00 for the event that was held Wednesday, July 3, 2024,
with approximately 1,500 attendees.
STRATEGIC PRIORITY:
Community investment.
LEGALITY:
The Department of Law finds that this proposal is legal and that is it within the authority of the Fort Worth
City Council.
FISCAL NOTE:
The following costs are anticipated to be incurred to implement this Council Proposal:

Of the above-identified amount, $0 is within currently budgeted resources and $0 would need to be
appropriated.
Based on the above and the attached financial checklist, the Director of Finance certifies that the
approval of this Council Proposal will not require the appropriation of additional funds at this time.
CURRENT FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Waiver of the above fees will result in a total of $580.00 of unrealized revenues.
ONGOING FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
