Consideration to Renew an Interlocal Agreement between Tarrant County and the City of Fort Worth Concerning
Usage of Certain City Facilities for County Related Events
***CONSENT AGENDA***
COMMISSIONERS COURTACTION REQUESTED
It is requested that the Commissioners Court consider the renewal of an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between Tarrant County
and the City of Fort Worth concerning usage of certain city facilities for County -related events.
BACKGROUND
On September 19, 2023, the Commissioners Court, through Court Order #141722, approved an Interlocal Agreement (ILA)
with the City of Fort Worth to facilitate the cooperation between City and County concerning the usage of certain city facilities
for County -related events. Tarrant County periodically requests usage of the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC) and the
Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC) to conduct events that serve a direct public purpose. As part of the agreement the event
being held must be of interest to the community, and approved by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court. This agreement
allows the County to use these facilities and associated parking for events, without payment, in an amount not to exceed
$100,000.00. The County will request usage of the facility at least thirty (30) days in advance of the event, and will not exceed
ten (10) events per calendar year.
The current Agreement will expire on September 30, 2026. Renewal of the Agreement will extend its term for one additional
year, beginning on October 1, 2026 and expiring on September 30, 2027.
The Criminal District Attorney's Office has reviewed this ILA as to form.
FISCAL IMPACT
Tarrant County will be responsible for any fees or costs associated with any event that is booked, except for the fees for those
services that the City has agreed to provide at no cost as described in Section III(a)(iv) of the agreement, including any out -of
pocket expenses such as, but not limited to, food and beverage costs, event staffing, audio and visual equipment needs,
internet, utilities, and event production.
