HomeMy WebLinkAbout025015 - Construction-Related - Contract - Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation, Inc.AMENDMENT NO. 1 STATE OF TEXAS 6 CITY SECRTARY CONTRACT NO.50/5 (No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT 8 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation, Inc., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24419, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-17125 on the 17th day of November 1998; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Pavement Reconstruction and Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacements on Sanborn Avenue (Scott to East Lancaster) ; Camila Street (Conner to South Beach); Koch Street (Conner to South Beach); Parkdale Street (Koch to North Dead End) and Sargent Avenue (East Lancaster to Meadowbrook). WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated June 4, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $4,654,97 (T&PW: $-0-, Water Deprtment $4,654.97 (Water: $4,654.97, Sewer: $-0-)). 2. Article II, of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $136,159.13. Nos. 2178 through 2182 Dear Ms. Johnson, This letter is to provide information regarding the change in scope on the Water Department work on the above referenced project. The water department has decided to loop the water main in Parkdale Street to the water main in Hawkins Street at the north ends of the streets and replace the 2 -inch water main in Hawkins to Camilla. We have visited the project site and determined the most suitable location for the water main. Permanent and temporary construction easements will be required from two property owners as well as additional surveying and engineering design. For your use, the Supplemental Fee Summary and the Engineer's Opinion of Construction Cost are attached. Our opinion of construction cost is $33,940.00 with additional surveying and engineering costs of $4,654.97. The costs associated with the acquisition of the utility easements are not included. PW77-030770154170 The proposed amendment will allow Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation to provide addi- tional services on the project as requested by City. The Water Department has determined it is necessary to loop the water line in Parkdale Street and to replace the 2 inch water line in Hawkins. These additional services will require additional survey and engineering design as well as the acquisition of two permanent and temporary con- struction easements. Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation has submitted a proposal in the amount of $4,654.97 (T&PW; $-0-, Water Department; $4,654.97 (Water: $4,654.97, Sewer $-0-)) for the additional services to be provided thereby increasing the contract fee from $131,504.16 (T&PW; $73,584.79, Water Department; $57,919.37 (Water: $26,642.91, Sewer: $31,276.46)) to $136,159.13 (T&PW: $73,580.79, Water Department; $62,574.34 (Water: $31,297.88, Sewer: $31,276.46)). I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services. Please authorize the additional design fee by your signatures on the attached contract amendment form.
