The stipulated laterals to be removed from Unit 1 are: o L-923: L-1033 Sta 4+09 to L-923 Sta 10+05 o L-1033: Sta 4+09 to Sta 9+15 o L-1022: Sta 0+00 to Sta 5+00 o L-1042: Sta 0+00 to Sta 8+01 o L-1034: Sta 1 + 70 to Sta 6+77 o M-55: Sta 17+39 to Sta 22+86 Furthermore, and because we still have several outstanding permanent easements, the Water Department has requested we break up the remaining Unit 1 work into two sub -units and advertise/bid as soon as possible. This may be accomplished by advertising/bidding M-55, L-1023, and L-1033 now and bidding L-3457, L-3455, and L -6473"A" at a later date. A breaking up of the completed Unit 1 plans, as described above, will require additional engineering and drafting; this work includes possible installation of new manholes, re- drafting of plan & profiles to delineate construction limits, and revisions to the bid proposal and contract documents. 309 W. 7th Street Suite 500 Fort Worth, Texas 76102 Tel: 817-338-1277 Fax: 817-338-9245 E -Mail: mail@bhbinc.com Mr. Mike Domenech, Project Manager June 25, 1999 Page 2 This additional effort is considered outside our original scope of services, and we therefore request a contract amendment to increase the not -to -exceed fee amount by Four Thousand Five Hundred ($4,500) Dollars. If detailed documentation is required, this compensation amount can be presented in a task and hourly rate schedule. In an effort to expedite the advertisement/bidding of this project, we have already started making the previously described revisions, and therefore request processing of the contract modification as soon as possible. PS46-070460410280, DOE NO. 1827 The proposed amendment will reimburse Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc. (BHB), for the additional services to be provided on the project as requested by the City. Prior to advertising the project for bids, staff directed BHB to remove the plan sheets for the sewer replacement proposed on Sanborn Street. The identified sewer main will be re- placed in conjunction with the 1998 CIP project for the reconstruction of Sanborn Street. In addition, in order to expedite the project staff directed BHB to remove Unit 1 from the project for advertisement at a later date after all necessary permanent easements have been acquired for the unit. The remaining units (2-4) were modified and advertised for bid. Baird Hampton & Brown, Inc., is requesting reimbursement in the amount of $4,500 for the additional services thereby increasing the contract fee from $214,725.00 to $219,225.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that were provided. Please authorize this additional fee by your signatures on the attached contract amend- ment form.
