WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Transystems
Corporation, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 24773, (the Contract) which was authorized by the
City Council by M&C C-17355 on the 30th day of March, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves a reduction in engineering
services for the following project:
Main 195AR Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation
and Improvements (Group 7, Contract 4), Part 2.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1
to said Contract to include a reduced scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include a reduction
in the original scope of engineering services to be provided as
specified in a proposal letter dated July 9, 1999, a copy of which
is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost savings to
the City for the reduced scope of services total $16,065.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
decrease in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $82,095.00.

All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Mr. Chaubey:
In response to the city's instructions, TranSystems presents this Amendment No. 1 for the reduction in engineering
services. These services have been removed from our original scope due to duplicate work that was assigned to the
Department Of Engineering in-house design. The reduction of services are outlined below:

L-3994 $ 94.675.90

Basic Engineering Design Services: (TSPE Curve 7.9% x 0.85 = 6.715%) $ 16,985.00

The proposed amendment will reduce the consultant's (Transystem Corporation) fee from
$98,160.00 to $82,095.00 due to a reduction in the original scope of services.
Subsequent to award of contract, it was determined that Water Department staff had in-
advertently included some lines which are currently under design by the In -House Design
Division of DOE on the list of lines to be designed by the consultant. Consequently, staff
requested that the consultant revise the scope of services as appropriate and submit a new
proposal fee for the remaining work.
The new contract amount is $82,095.00 resulting in a reduction of $16,065.00 from the
original contract amount.
Please authorize this reduction in the contract fee by your signatures on the attached
amendment form.
