WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Teague Nall and
Perkins, Inc. (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 23612, (the Contract) which was authorized by the
City Council by M&C C-16583 on the 10th day of February 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering contract for the design of Mains 36S, 166, 195A1
and 195A11 Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation
and Improvements (Group 3, Contract 5), Part 4
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1
to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter
dated July 2, 1999 a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services
to be performed by Engineer total $4,800.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $410,252.00.
3.
All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Mr. Boyer:
We are requesting an amendment to our engineering services agreement for the referenced
project. An amendment is requested to cover the costs incurred by TNP to repackage the project
for bidding in a way that is different from what was previously approved by the City.
At the conceptual design phase, we recommended, and the City approved, that the project be
packaged as one plan set with five units. Preliminary and final construction plans were prepared
in the format approved in the conceptual design report. In the final review phase, the City has
requested that the project be separated into two plan sets and a total of eight units. In revising
the plans to accommodate this request, a total of 17 plan sheets are affected.
The proposed budget increase for this amendment is as follows:
Basic Services Fee $ 4,800
A summary of the total project fees are as follows:
Original Contract $ 405,452
Amendment No. 1 4.800
Total Project $ 410,252

RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO MAIN 36S, 166, 195AI AND
195AH DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILI-
TATION AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 3, CONTRACT 5), PART 4,
SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410130
The proposed amendment will provide funds to pay Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (TNP)
for the additional services to be performed on the project as requested by the City.
In order to expedite construction of this project, staff directed TNP to divide the project
into two parts with a total of eight units instead of one part with five units. The two parts
will be advertised for bids separately.
Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc., has submitted a fee proposal in the amount of $4,800.00
for the additional services thereby increasing the contract fee from $405,452.00 to
$410,252.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for additional services to be pro-
vided.
Please authorize this additional design fee by your signatures on the attached contract
amendment form.
