HomeMy WebLinkAbout025125 - Construction-Related - Contract - HNTB CorporationAMENDMENT NO. 1 STATE OF TEXAS 6 CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 5/a (No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT 6 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and HNTB Corporation, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24458, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-17159 on the 24th day of November 1998; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Pavement Reconstruction and Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacements on East Peach Street (North Live Oak to Wilderman); East Bluff Street (North Live Oak to Wilderman)and Grant Street (East Peach to Gounah). WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Coi additional engineering servi dated July 12, 1999, a cor. incorporated herein. The cost to be performed by Engineer Department $4,840.00 (Water: itract is amended to include the ces specified in a proposal letter y of which is attached hereto and to City for the additional services total $4,840.00 (T&PW: $-0-, Water $4,840.00, Sewer: $-0-)). 2. Article II, of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $52,850.00. Bluff & Grant Streets D.O.E. 2155-2157 Dear Dena Johnson, During a review meeting on 5/29/99 for Contract 99AA, the City request a proposal for a contract amendment to extend the waterline for Wilderman from Peach to Belknap (Water Rehab Contract 99AA). The city has decided to complete the water line loop from Bluff St. to Belknap St. and include this in the 1998 CIP Contract 6. HNTB provided A.N.A. with the memo supplied by the City pertaining this additional work so they could estimate survey, design and project Engineering time in a proposal. A.N.A. Consultants, L.L.C. prepared Engineering estimates. A.N.A.'s initial estimate at $5,600.00 has been re -negotiated to $4,400.00. HNTB receives an additional ten percent of this fee, for a total Engineering fee of $4,840.00. HNTB was responsible for 800 linear feet of water line, design, survey and 1 sheet plan & profile. PW77-060770154100 The proposed amendment will allow HNTB Corporation to provide additional services on the project as requested by City. The Water Department has determined it is necessary to complete the water line loop from Bluff Street to Belknap Street. This request will require additional survey and .engineering design.... HNTB Corporation has submitted a proposal in the amount of $4,840.00 (T&PW; $-0-, Water Department; $4,840.00 (Water: $4,840.00, Sewer $-0-) for the additional services to be provided thereby increasing the contract fee from $48,010.00 (T&PW; $27,890.00, Water Department; $20,120.00 (Water: $17,907.00, Sewer: $2,213.00) to $52,850.00 (T&PW: $27,890.00, Water Department; $24,960.00 (Water: $22,747.00, Sewer: $2,213.00)). I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services. Please authorize the additional design fee by your signatures on the attached contract amendment form.
