WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Turner Collier &
Braden, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract
No. 22523, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council
by M&C C-15264 on the llth day of February 1997; and subsequently
revised by three previous amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering contract for the design of Main 207R Drainage
Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements
(Group 5, Contract 3), Part 3.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 4
to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter
dated July 30, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services
to be performed by Engineer total $1,220.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
inerease in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $489,800.00.

3.
All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

We �are providing this letter as our request for additional compensation to address
miscellaneous construction phase design modifications on plan sheets 38, 40, and 41 requested
by the City. We propose to complete this work for a lump sum amount of $1,220. An
itemized breakdown of the labor and non-labor expenses related to this request are listed on
the attached sheet. Please see the Contract Fee Summary below.

IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 5, CONTRACT 3), PART 3, DOE NO.
1558, SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410270
The proposed amendment will reimburse Turner Collier & Braden, Inc. (TCB) for addi-
tional design services on the project as requested by the City.
Subsequent to award of contract, staff directed TCB to redesign the profile of Lateral L-
6085 to reduce it's depth by 8-10 feet on the average. The design change is desirable be-
cause several sewer services were encountered at a higher elevations than expected. The
redesign will result in significant cost savings to the City since the line will now be in-
stalled by open cut instead of by other than open cut. .
� Turner Collier & Braden, Inc. has requested reimbursement in the amount of $1,220.00
for the additional design services they performed thereby increasing the contract fee from
"$488,580.00 to $489,800.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional
