CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT
(No M&C Needed)
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Ratnala & Bahl, Inc.
Associates, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No.
24462, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-
17151 on the 24 day of November, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following
project:
Engineering contract for the design of 16-inch water line on Morningside
Drive form Bryan Avenue to I8-35.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No.l to said
Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their
duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which
amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated August 9, 1999,
a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to
City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total
$14,678.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in
the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed
under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for
all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $67,458.00

All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended

City of Fort Worth has requested that ffatnala & Bahl, Inc. add a 16 inch �.�°ater line �n
Morningside Drive from Biyan Avenue to IH35 to the engineering plans for ttiis project. We
have visited the site and have made an evaluation of the additional engineering, drafting,
surveying and reproduction services that will be required.
W� believe that t?1e addiCional work can be completed in a timel�� rnanner as an
addendum to our existing contract for this project. We propose an additional lump sum fee
of $14,6?8.00 for the add�tional work.
Please approve this addi!:en to the fee for our contract and issue a written Notiee to

As requested by the Wat� Depaziment Ratnala & BaW, Inc., has submitted a proposal to provide
additional services for design of existing 16-inch water line located in Morningside Drive.
Ratnala & Bahl, Inc, has requested to perform these additional services for a fee not to exceed
$14,678.00 increasing the contract fee to $67,458.00
Staff considers this fee to be fair and reasonable for the scope of services proposed. Please authorize this
additional design by your signature on the attached Contract Amendment form.
