WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and TranSystems
Corporation, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 23247, (the Contract) which was authorized by the
City Council by M&C C-16352 on the 14th day of October, 1997; and
subsequently revised by three previous amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering contract for the design Of Main 390 Drainage
Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements
(Group 6, Contract 2), Part 4, and Main 36SR Drainage Area
Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group
5, Contract 2?, Part 7.
WHEREAS, it

has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 4
to include an increased scope of work and revised
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter
dated August 9, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services
to be performed by Engineer total $12,020.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $917,193.00.

Dear Mr. Sholola:
As per the city's request to accommodate replacement of the water line in Virginia Ave. between S. Oakland Blvd.
and Rand Ave. TranSystems is preparing this amendment for additional fee to the original contract. We are
requesting an increase in fee of $12,020.00 to cover these costs. The additional work is as outlined below:
1. Prepare an overall water layout sheet
2. Prepare two plan sheets for the water line improvements
3. Prepare three pl�n & profile sheets for the paving improvements
4. Prepare an overall paving layout sheet
5. Prepare cross sections

SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS
(GROUP 5, CONTRACT 2), PART 7, DOE NO. 1648, SEWER PROJECT
NOS. PS46-070460410280
The proposed amendment will reimburse TranSystems Corporation (TranC), for additional design
and survey services provided on the project as requested by the� City.
Subsequent to advertising Part 16 of the project for bids, the Water Deparhnent request that the
severely deteriorated water line located on Virginia Lane (Uni,t 2 of Part 16) be replaced in con-
junction with the proposed sewer replacement on the street.

Since replacing the water and sewer lines on the street will require extensive permanent pavement
repair, the Transportation and Public Works Department agreed to participate in the cost of re-
constructing the roadway to include new pavement, sidewalk, driveway approaches, curb and
gutter and wheelchair ramps after the water and sewer improve�nents are complete.
This amendment will reimburse the consultant for the additional design and survey services' for
the water znain replacement and pavement reconstruction on the street.
TranSystems Corporation has requested reimbursement in the amount of $12,020.00 for the addi-
tional services they performed thereby increasing the contract fee from $905,173.00 to
$917,193.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that were pro-
vided. '
