HomeMy WebLinkAbout025277 - Construction-Related - Contract - Halff Associates, Inc., AMENDMENT NO. 4 STATE OF TEXAS S CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO.���� (No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT b WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Halff Associates, Inc., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 23668, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-16627 on the 24th day of February 1998 and revised by three previous amendment; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following.project: Engineering contract for the design of Main C1C4B Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group 6, Contract 2), Part 4. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 4 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated September 1, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $13,600.00. 2. Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $346.965.00. ����C�9l�d Q���� � B� ����Q��� �o 1717V C''�UUp U�. � K� All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and effect. Note, this alternative was presented by Halff during the concept planning stage; however, the City instructed Half to proceed with a pipe enlargement design. • Incorporate Wade & Associates M-30 design with Halff's Part 9 bid documents. • Divide Part 9 in two Units (Unit 1: M-30 and Unit 2: M-32) Main C1C4B, Part 10 • Modify final plans and bid documents to include a Hobas pipe alternative. Note, Halff was instructed to remove this alternative from final plans and specifications prior to the City signing the cover sheet. Main C1C4B, Part 4, Unit 4 L-1583 • Conduct subsurface investigation (monitor well installation and water testing), by Rone Engineers, to help determine the source of ponding water at the Humane Society of Fort Worth, 1840 East Lancaster Avenue. Note, Halff Associates have observed standing water at this site throughout the month of August. • Modify plan to include security gate (special detail) to the existing easement behind the Humane Society. � • Coordinate with City development and legal departments regarding the privatization of the existing sanitary sewer L-1583. • Finalize design plan and submit mylar reporducables to the City of Fort Worth for construction by City's current contractor. PS46-070460410230, DOE NO. 1829 The proposed amendment will reimburse Halff Associates, Inc. (Half�, for the additional services to be provided on the project as requested by the City. In order to expedite construction of this project, staff directed Halff, to break the project into three parts for advertising purposes. In addition Part 9 will be further broken into three units and unit one will incorporate plans from another consultant. Part 10 will be revised to incorporate an Hobas pipe alternate into the final plans and bid documents. Also an additional design work will be done to determine the source of ponding water at the Humane Society of Fort Worth Complex. Halff Associates, Inc., is requesting reimbursement in the amount of $13,600.00 for the additional services thereby increasing the contract fee from $333,365.00 to $346,965.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that were provided. Please authorize this additional fee by your signatures on the attached contract amend- ment form.
