DISCUSSION: The purpose of this Mayor & Council Communication (M&C) is to authorize a one-year blanket approval to execute non-exclusive cooperative purchasing agreements and interlocal agreements with multiple vendors. The City routinely receives a high volume of vehicle and equipment purchase requests within tight timeframes, often compounded by limited vendor availability. Absent a blanket authorization, these concurrent demands can create procurement bottlenecks and result in delays of acquiring critical vehicles and equipment. Establishing a blanket M&C enables the Financial Management Services Department to respond more efficiently to departmental needs, secure available inventory in a timely manner, and mitigate the risk of a new backlog that could disrupt daily operations across City departments. Approval of this M&C will enable the Fleet Stirke Force (FSF) to continue supporting the daily needs of the City while ensuring the timely acquisition of essential vehicles and equipment needed to support operations. The following vendors and cooperative purchasing agencies are actively utilized to procure vehicles and equipment. These partnerships have been instrumental in advancing procurement efforts and sustaining critical operations across the City.
