Call to Order — Mattie Parker — Mayor With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the Budget Work Session on the FY2027 Budget to order at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the City Council Woric Session Room, 100 Fort Woi�th Trail, Fort Worth, Texas. 2. Opening Remarks — Jay Chapa, City Manager Opening comments wei•e made by Jay Chapa, City Manager. 3. Updates on FY27 Budget Process — Christianne Simmons, Chief Transformation Officer and Cristi Lemon, Assistant Finance Director Presentation was provided by Christianne Simmons, Chief Transformation Officer and Cristi Lemon, Assistant Finance Director. • Christianne aslced for input from Council on launching a budget priorities survey to allow residents to provide input/feedbacic on budget during the summer. o Council Member People was in favor of a survey being sent out. CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS BUDG�T WORIC SESSION ON THE FY2027 BUDG�T MAY 5, 2026 Page 2 of 2 o Mayor Parlcer suggested that the survey questions be provided to Council to provide input on budget survey questions. o Council Member Martinez suggested that information about the survey could be included on the summer program applications to provide more outreach. 4. General Fund Priorities by Revenue Source — Brady Kirk, Assistant Finance Director Presentation was provided by Brady Kirlc, Assistant Finance Director. • Mayor Parlcer suggested that during the budget process, staff articulates that the growth of expenses are basic City services. If the City needs revenue, it is to provide basic City Services for the highest quality of life. • Council Member Nettles suggested there to be better articulation on if the tax rates are going up or down, to outline what the City can do with the money fi•om the tax rate. • Council Member Lauersdorf aslced that staff bring in active HOAs and their leadership to explain and brealc down the budget to improve neighborhood outreach with accurate information. 5. Request for Future Agenda Items — Mattie Parker, Mayor • Council Member Nettles would lilce to see what each Department is cutting in their department, perhaps a spreadsheet with line item by line item. • Mayor Pro tem Flores requested an Informal Repoi-t to look at assisted living centers to see if they have sufficient staff at the facility or is that over time being offloaded to Fire and EMS. City Manager Chapa stated that he would checic with Law. 6.
