Home My WebLink About025373 - Construction-Related - Contract - TranSystems CorporationAMENDMENT NO. 5 STATE OF TEXAS S CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO . ��/ � COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and TranSystems Corporation, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 23247, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-16352 on the 14th day of October, 1997; and subsequently amended by four previous amendments; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering contract for the design Of Main 390 Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group 6, Contract 2), Part 4, and Main 36SR Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group 5, Contract 2), Part 7. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 5 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in M&C C-17718, adopted by the City Council on the 26th day of October, 1999, and further amplified in a proposal letter dated September 22, 1999, copies of which are both attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $19,210.00. 2. DISCUSSION: On October 14, 1997 (M&C C-16352), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute ar enginesring agreement with TranSystems Corporation in the amount of $791,298 for the preparation o� plans and specifications for Main M-390 drainage area sanitary sewer system rehabilitation anc improvements (Group 6, Contract 1) Part 4 and Main M-36SR drainage area sanitary sewer systerr rehabilitation and improvements (Group 5, Contract 2) Part 7. The contract was �subsequently revisec by four previous amendments totaling $125,895. !t has been determined that it is necessary io rep(ace approximately 2,400 linear feet of severel� deteriorated water main located within #he Main 390, Part 4 drainage area on Lynnfield Drive betweer Hampshire Bou(evard and Ayers Avenue, in conjunction with the replacement of the sewer line on th� street. The poor condition of the water main was unknawn at the time the original contract wa awarded to TranSystems Corporation. The proposed amendment will allow TranSystems. Corporation to "perform the necessary addition� survey and design work for the replacement of the water main.
