This is a letter agreement wherein The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company, hereinafter called Company, agrees
that the existing crossing surface at Sycamore School Road is to be removed and new concrete crossing surface is to be installed to a
crossing surface width of 104 feet on the one track for a total crossing surface length of 104 feet. To accomplish this work, the City of
Fort Worth, Te�s, hereafter called Agency, and the Company, agree as follows:
1) The work will be performed at the expense of the Company. Said work will consist of the installation of concrete crossing
surface material including upgades to the track to accommodate new concrete crossing surface material, to adequately include
all vehicular driving lanes, based on a width of 104 feet from the end of crossing to end of crossing, including walkways.
2) The Agency will pay the Company $200 per foot far the total crossing surface length for work described above for a total cost
of $20,800.
3) The Company will order the Omni nrecast concrete crossing surface material or an approved equal from a qualified supplier
and after receipt of the material, the Agency will be billed on basis of Paragraph 2 above.
4) The Company, at its own cost and expense, will rnaintain the crossing surface in a satisfactory manner and wiil make ample
provisions for such maintenance, provided, however, that the Company shall be entitled to receive any contribution toward the
cost of such maintenance as may be now or hereafter made available by reason of any law, ordinance, regulatian, order, grant, or
by other means or sources.
5) The Agency will provide all barricades, lights, and traffic control devices necessary for detouring vehicular traffic at the
crossing, during construction of the crossing involved. This work will be performed at the expense of the Agency.
6) T'he Agency further agrees to allow the Company to drain the crossing area into existing Agency storm sewers, if available,
near the crossing. The drain pipes and filter fabric will be furnished and installed by the Company.
7) 'I'he Coinpany, at the A�encv's cost and e�mense, will saw cut and re�nove a 12-foot minunum opening in the existing roadway
surface, furnish and place asphalt between the saw cut and the new concrete crossing surface, and also place asphalt beneath the
track structure to provide further subgrade stabiliry. The additional loadings from the new concrete crossing surface will require
the use of track panels, consisting of 10-foot timber cross ties. The estimate for this portion of the work is $7,800. Agency will
be billed on actual costs.
8) Both parties agree to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which by reference is made a part of this
agreement.
The work proposed above is agreeable to the Company under the terms and consideration stated herein. If this is satisfactory and
agreeable to the Agency, please indicate concurrence in the space provided.

This is a letter agreement wherein The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company, hereinafter called Company, agrees
that the existing crossing surface at Biddisan Street is to be re�noved and new concrete crossing surface is to be installed to a crossing
surface width of 56 feet on the one track for a total crossing surface length of 56 feet. To accomplish this work, the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, hereafter called Agency, and the Company, agree as follows:
1) The work will be performed at the expense of the Company. Said work will consist of the installation of concrete crossing
surface material including upgrades to the track to accommodate new concrete crossing swface material, to adequately include
all vehicular driving lanes, based on a width of 56 feet from the end of crossing to end of crossing, including waikways.
2) The Agency will pay the Company $200 per foot for the total crossing swface length for work described above for a total cost
of $11,200.

that the existing crossing surface at Seminary Drive is to be removed and new concrete crossing surface is to be installed to a crossing
surface width of 88 feet on the one track for a total crossing surface length of 88 feet. To accomplish this work, the Ciry of Fort
Worth, Texas, hereafter called Agency, and the Company, agree as follows:
1) T'he work will be performed at the expense of the Company. Said work will consist of the installation of concrete crossing
surface material including upgrades to the track to accommodate new concrete crossing surface material, to adequately include
all vehicular driving lanes, based on a width of 88 feet from the end of crossing to end of crossing, including walkways.
2) The Agency will pay ihe Company $200 per foot for the total crossing surface length for work described above for a total cost
of $17,600.
3) The Company will order the Omni nrecast concrete crossing swface material or an approved equal from a qualified supplier
and after receipt of the material, the Agency will be billed on basis of Paragraph 2 above.

SUBJECT AGREEMENT WITH BURLINGTON NO��HERN SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY FOR
THE INSTALLATION OF SURFACE CROSSINGS ON SEMINARY DRIVE, SYCAMORE
SCHOOL ROAD AND BIDDISON STREET
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with the
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company for installation of concrete surface crossings on
Seminary Drive, Sycamore School Road and Biddison Street at a cost to the City not to exceed
$67,500.
DISCUSSION:
The railroad surface crossings at Seminary Drive just east of Frasier, Sycamore School Road just west
of Crowley Road, and Biddison Street at Ryan are severely deteriorated and need to be replaced.
Under this cost share agreement between the City and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway
Company, the railway company will remove the existing crossing and replace it with concrete crossing
material at each location. The railway company will provide all the material, labor, equipment, supplies
and incidentals necessary to complete this work. The City will provide the cost of the material for
replacing the crossing surfaces, and will provide all traffic control devices necessary during construction
of each crossing.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 6 and 9.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of
the Street Improvements Fund.
