COUNTY OF TARRANT §
WHERAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Black & Veatch Corporation
(Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24676 (the Contract)
which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-17264 on the 2"`� day of February,
1999; and
W��RAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project:
Engineering Contract for the Pavement Reconstruction and Water
Replacements on Foard Street (East Seminary to Dead End), Brookline Avenue
(Trentman to Algerita) and Algerita Street (Trentman to Miller).
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said
Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly
authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the
Contract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services
specified in a proposal letter dated August 17, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by
Engineer total $ 6,230.00
2.
Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum
fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as
amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work atid services shall not exceed
the sum of $65,108.00
3.
All other provisions of the contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall
remain in full force and effect.

Dear Mr. Sahu:
In response to various meetings and discussions regarding the additional paving
and drainage improvements required for the street improvements, we are submitting
this request for contract amendment. This amendment is for the surveying and
engineering services necessary to design additional paving and drainage
improvements. This letter is the result of a Concept Review meeting on August 4,
1999 and revised Concept Plan report dated August 16, � 999 (copy of concept plan
report attached). �
The current contract amount is $58,878 and we are requesting $6,230 to provide
field surveying and engineering services necessary for the additional design efforts,
giving a new contract amount of $65,108.

Using the revised cost estimates for the paving and drainage improvements
and changes identified in the Concept Plan Report, the engineering design
services can be calculated as follows;
OPINION OF PROBABLE CONSTRUCTION COSTS $349,358
CURVE (9.2% x 0.85 x$349,358) _$ 27,320 for Engineering Design
$27,320 -$23,990 =$3,330 for additional Engineering Design Services.
