(Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 23668, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C 16627 on the 24th day of February 1998; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering contract for the design of Mains C1C4B Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group 6, Contract 2), Part 4. WHEREAS, it to said Contract maximum fee; has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to include an increased scope of work and revised NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated October 8, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $6,960.00. 2. Our original contract included the design and survey for about $1.4 million improvements. We have currently designed approximately $1.498 million of improvements includi' L-7523 (constructed by Circle C), L-449 (to be included with Garcia Associates bid documents) and two water lines along Irwin Street and between Irwin Street and Rosedale. Amendment No. 1 shall include the following additional s�ervices: • Field survey about 7001inear feet of L-3684. � • Conduct necessary property research. �' • Prepare base maps. PS46-07�460410230, DOE NO. 1829 The proposed amendment will reimburse Halff Associates, Inc., for the additional survey and design services they provided on the project as requ�ted by the City. It has been determined that an additional 700 linear ft. ��f severely deteriorated sanitary sewer lines within the project area must be replaced. 7he deteriorated condition of the identified sewer line was unknown prior to beginning co struction of the project. Halff Associates, Inc., has requested reimbursement in e amount of $6,960.00 for the additional survey and design services there by in�easing the contract fee from $317,385.00 to $324,345.00. I believe this fee is fair a� i reasonable for additional serv- ices that were provided. Please authorize this additional fee by your signatures �n the attached contract amend- ment form.
