WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 6 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated October 12, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The additional services are due to revisions on the approved construction documents during the construction phase of the project. Tf�ese revisions are described under Amendment No. 6 below. Amendment No. 6 Amendment No. 6 includes an increase in total contract amount of $11,500 in order to accommodate the following design changes: Revise twelve plan and profile sheets to prepare a rebid set for Unit 1. Revised Plan and Profile Sheets 1 through 11 deleting Unit 2 and indicating the revision note for rebid of project to avoid any confusion with the previously advertised and bid set of plans. . 2. Revise specifications to indicate that the proposal is for rebid of the project and revise the special conditions within the specifications to reflect new beginning of construction and completion dates. Revise notice to bidders to reflect new dates of advertisement. Remove references and special conditions that apply to unit 2. 3. Attend meetings with the City of Fort Worth to discuss revisions. Douglas Rademaker, Director DOE and Mike Groomer, Assistant City Manager Tony Sholola � ' S � DATE : October 27, 1999 RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO MAIN 207R DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION AND IMPROVE- MENTS (GROUP 5, CONTRACT 3), PART 2, DOE N0.1360 The proposed amendment will reimburse Carter and Burgess, Inc., for the additional en- gineering services that will be provided on the project as requested by the City. Due to the rather high bid prices initially received for M207R Part 9, Unit 1 all bids re- ceived were rejected. Before the project could be readvertised for bids, it was necessary for Carter and Burgess to remove all references to M207R Part 9, Unit 2 from the project plans and specification. In addition Carter and Burgess provided 40 sets of plans and specifications with which to rebid the project. Carter and Burgess, Inc., has requested a fee of $11,500.00 for the additional services to be provided thereby increasing the contract fee from $508,195.00 to $519,695.00. I be- lieve this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that were provided.
