WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and URS Greiner, Inc., (Engineer) made and
entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24543, (the Contract� which was authorized by the
City Council by MB�C C-17149 on the 24th day of November, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project:
Engineering services for the replacement of Randol Mill Road Bridge at IH-820.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to
include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly
authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article 1 of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services
specified in a proposal letter dated October 26� 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be perFormed by
Engineer total $8,340.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract states that the total lump sum fee for this contract will not
exceed $251,176.48. This amount is hereby amended by $8,340 for additional services
outlined in Attachment C of this document. Therefore, the total lump sum fee has been
increased from $251,176.48 to $259,516.48, an increase of $8,340.

All other provisions of the Contract that are not expressly amended herein shall remain
in full force and effect

Enclosed please find the proposed Attachment C for the subject engineering services contract. This
additional scope of service covers the design of safety lighting for the IH820 southbound off-ramp
gore area. The addition of this lighting is required to meet TxDOT sag vertical curve sight distance
standards. Also included is median mounted street lighting on Randol Mill Road from IH820 west to
the project limits.
The addition of this work effort is not anticipated to extend the design duration for this project
assuming a notice to proceed would be given by November 8, 1999.

AMENDMENT NO.1
Randol Mill Road/ IH 820 Bridge Replacement
URS Greiner, Inc. will prepare the design and the plans, specifications and estimates to
provide safety lighting for the southbound exit ramp to Randol Mill Road and street
lighting on Randol Mill Road from IH820 west to the project limits. A detailed
description of the supplemental scope of services follows:
Task A— Develop Design Criteria
• Mounting height and spacing
• Lamp type and wattage
• Pole type
• Service type
Task B — Coordination
• Utility Company
• City and TxDOT
Task C — Design
• Pole Placement
• Circuit Layaut / Voltage Drop Calcs.
Task D— Prepare Plans, Speciiications and Estimate (PS&E)
1. Prepare Plans
• Show luminaries, service poles, ground boxes, wiring, conduit, overhead
power lines, underground utilities, R/W limits, pavement widths, etc.
• Label lengths of wiring runs, type and size of wiring, type of assembly,
etc.
2. Prepare preliminary opinion of probable construction cost.
3. Prepare specifications and contract documents.
4. Submit three sets of Draft and Final PS&E to the City and one set to TxDOT
for concurrent review.
For the above Tasks A-D, a detailed breakdown of estimated sheets, labor and cost to
provide these services is included on the following page.
