WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 4 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated October 25, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $1,972.00. 2. During the preliminary design review for Amendment No. 2, GSW was requested to split the project for inclusion in various other consultants' designs, which are currently under construction. To comply with this request, additional work will be required to split the project, and to coordinate with the other consultants. Douglas Rademaker, Director DOE and Mike Groomer, Assistant City Manager Tony Sholola ( • S - DATE : January 10, 2000 RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO SANITARY SEWER MAINS 19 AND 258 DRAINAGE AREA REHABILITATION AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 5, CONTRACT 3), PART 3, DOE NO. 1596 — SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410250 The proposed amendment will reimburse Gutierrez, Smouse, Wilmut & Associates, Inc., (GSW) for the additional services they provided on the project as requested by the City. In order to expedite construction of the project, staff directed GSW to break out a section of the project and submit the drawings for inclusion in another project. Gutierrez, Smouse, Wilmut & Associates, Inc., has requested reimbursement in the amount of $1,972.00 for the services, thereby increasing the contract fee from $714,344.00 to $716,316.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for additional serv- ices that were provided and recommend approval.
