The contractor, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., is proposing using flex base in lieu of lime treatment for subgrade stabilization beneath the new trail from station
1078+25 to station 1089+25. The large equipment required for lime treatment poses two complications: 1) safety concerns for the section of trail adjacent to vehicular traffic
on Spur 580; and 2) access constraints/difficulties for the section of trail that will be constructed on top of a large existing berm with steep slopes on both sides. For these
reasons the contractor is proposing this substitution, as allowed in the geotechnical report prepared for this site and without objection from the project engineer.
It is understood and agreed that the acceptance of this Change Order by the contractor constitutes an accord and satisfaction and represents payment in
full (both time and money) for all costs arising out of, or incidental to, the above Change Order. The Project/Program Manager signing below
acknowledges that he/she is the person responsible for the monitoring and administration of this contract, including ensuring all performance and
reporting requirements.
