Home My WebLink About025638 - General - Contract - Dan Dase Insurance Agency, Inc.fi � CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO . � � � � � AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 24317 TERMINAL BUILDING OFFICE LEASE AGREEMENT This AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 24317("Amendment") is made and entered into by and between the CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS ("Lessor"), a home rule municipal corporation situated in portions of Tarrant and Denton Counties, Texas and acting by and through Ramon Guajardo, its duly authorized Assistant City Manager, and DAN DASE INSURANCE AGENCY, INC. ("Lessee"), a Texas corporation acting by and through Dan Dase, its duly authorized President. Recitals The following introductory provisions are true and correct and form the basis of this Amendment. A. Lessor and Lessee previously entered into City Secretary Contract No. 24317 (the "Lease"), a lease of Suite 216 in the Terminal Building at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport ("Airport"). B. Lessee wishes and Lessor consents to amend Lessee's insurance requirements under the Lease to more realistically address Lessor's risk of exposure by Lessee's tenancy. �reement Lessor and Lessee agree as follows: 1. Section 13.1 (Types of Coverage and Limits) of the Lease is hereby amended to state the following: Lessee shall procure and maintain at all times, in full force and effect, a policy or policies of insurance as specified herein, naming the City of Fort Worth as an additional insured and covering all public risks related to the leasing, use, occupancy, maintenance, existence or location of the Premises. Lessee shall obtain the following insurance coverage at the limits specifed herein: • Commercial General Liability: $300,000.00 per occurrence (including Products and Completed Operations) In addition, Lessee shall be responsible for all insurance to any approved construction, improvements, modifications or renovations on or to the Premises and for personal property of Lessee or in Lessee's care, custody or control. DISCUSSION: Under City Secretary Contract No. 24317, Dan Dase Insurance Agency, Inc. leases office space for Suite 216 in the Terminal Building at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport. Currently, the City's lease with Dan Dase Insurance Agency, Inc. includes an insurance requirement for a conventional hangar tenant rather than for a terminal office space tenant. Staff recommends that Dan Dase Insurance Agency, Inc.'s insurance requirements be changed to require $300,000 in Commercial General Liability coverage, which is the requirement for terminal o�ce space. All other provisions and conditions of the lease agreement shall remain in effect. The property is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
