WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 7 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: E� Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated November 22, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $7,500.00. 2. The additional services are due to revisions on the approved construction documents during the construction phase of the project. These revisions are described under Amendment No. 7 below. Amendment No. 7 Amendment No. 7 includes an increase in total contract amount of $7,500 in order to accommodate the following design changes: 1. Prepare an exhibit showing the proposed revisions to the sanitary sewer alignment and deliver five color copies to the City of Fort worth. . 2. Revise plan and profile sheet (8A) to change the sewer line length and alignment. 3. Attend meetings with the City of Fort Worth to discuss revisions. 4. Prepare 12 prints of sheet 8A of plans and deliver to the City of Fort W orth. 5. Field verify the location of the existing sanitary sewer. � 6. Revise easement documents through the Leonard's Property. The engineering fee required to make these revisions on the construction documents is $7,500.00. Douglas Rademaker, Director DOE and Mike Groomer, Assistant City Manager Tony Sholola f ' � � D.ecember 14, 1999 RE: DESIGN FEE AM�NDMENT NO. 7 TO MAIN 207R DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION AND IMPROVE- MENTS (GROUP 5, CONTRACT 3), PART 2, DOE NO. 1360 The proposed amendment will reimburse Carter and Burgess, Inc., for the additional en- gineering services that will be provided on the project as requested by the City. During construction of the project, it has been determined that the existing sewer line is not located within the easement prescribed for it and consequently that the new sewer line will not be located within the additional easement that was obtained adj acent to the ex- isting easement. Staff directed Carter and Burgess to determine the exact location of the existing sewer line and to revise the applicable project plan/profile sheet. Staff also di- rected Carter and Burgess to prepare new easement documents to accommodate the alignment of the new sewer line which was installed in the wrong location. Carter and Burgess, Inc., has requested a fee of $7,500.00 for the additional services to be provided thereby increasing the contract fee from $519,695.00 to $527,195.00. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that were provided.
