Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additioaal engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated October 20, 1999, a copy of which is sttached hereto and incorporated herein. The easements were requested due to a sewer realignment and to the current placement of sewers in locations without permanent easements. 7'his will require additional survey, easement preparation, and coordination between GSW and ANA, which is providing surveying services. In addition, the City requested twelve copies of the preliminary specifications, the cost of which was not included in � the original contract. January 25, 2000 RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO SANITARY SEWER MAIN 21 DRAINAGE AREA REHABILITATION AND SEWER IM- PROVEMENTS (GROUP 7, CONTRACT 3), PART 4, DOE NO. 24$9�— SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410310 The proposed amendment will reimburse Gutierrez, Smouse, Wilmut & Associates, Inc., (GSV� for the additional services they provided on the project as requested by the City. The amendment will reimburse GSW for the additional design and survey services in- volved with the preparation of five additional permanent easements due to the realign- ment of a sewer lateral. In addition, staff requested that GSW point twelve additional preliminary project plans for utility distribution. Gutierrez, Smouse, Wilmut & Associates, Tnc., has requested reimbursement in the amount of $5,598.24 for the services, thereby increasing the contract fee from $73,225.00 to $78,823.24. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for additional services that were provided and recommend approval.
