WSEREAS, the City of Eort Worth (City) and Turaer Collie b
Braden, Inc., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 23127, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City
Council by M&C C-Z6214 on the 12th day of August 1997; and
subsequently revised by four previous amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
.Enqineering contract for the design of Main BR and Main 279
Drainaqe Area Sanitary Sewer System Enaluation Study and
Improvements (Group 7, Contract 1).
WHEREAS, it has beccme necessary to execute Amendment No. 5 to
said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and throuqh
their duly authorized representatives, enter into the followi.nq
agreement v�hich amends the Ccntract:
1.
Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated December
7, 1999, a copy of �hich is attached hereto and incorporated
herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be
perforsned by Engineer total $9,561.00.
2.
Article II of the Contract is amencied to provide for an
increase in the *�ax�*�77711 fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and
services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $1,256,746.00.

This letter is a request for supplemental authorization to provide for additional engineering
design services required to complete the project that were not included in the original scope of
�Y�"r+f[K��
The agreed-on scope of services assumed that M-126 from Sta. 118+45 to Sta. 124+04 would
be rehabilitated using pipe enlargement or lining methods. After completing the topographic
survey, however, it was determined that between Sta. 118+45 and approximate Sta. 121+50, the
existing sewer runs under 2 houses and a shed (see attached drawing). Resolution of this
problem will require re-routing of the sewer line within the street ROW. Additional services
will include approximately 950 l.f. of topographic survey along the revised alignment and
design of an additional 385 l.f. of sewer.

Dear Mr. James:
This letter is a request for Supplemental Authorization to provide additional engineering services as
requested by the City.
During preliminary design review, GSW was requested to split the design of lateral M-144*R in basin M-
219 into two parts. One part was to be constructed in-house and the other was to be awarded through the
emergency bidding process. Originally, the entire project was scheduled for in-house construction. To
comply with this request, additional work is required to split the project and to prepare the bid documents.

DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM EVALUATION
STUDY AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 7, CONTRACT 1)
The proposed amendment will reimburse Turner Collie & Braden, Inc. for the additional
engineering services that will be provided on the project as requested by the City.
During the topographic survey of Basin M-126 it was found that the existing sewer line
ran under two houses and a shed. Staff instructed Turner Collie & Braden, Inc. to redes-
ign the alignment of 385 L.F. of sanitary sewer line which also includes an additiona195Q
L.F. of topographic survey. This redesigned portion of the main will be included in Sani-
tary Sewer Rehab Contract XLVI (46) (DOE NO. 2598) for advertising and construction
purposes.
Turner Collie & Braden, Inc., has requested a fee of $9,561.00 for the additional services
, to be provided thereby increasing the contract fee from $1,247,185.00 to $1,256,746.00. I
believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that were provided.
